CHILDRENS AND FAMILY PORTRAIT SESSION
I really love photographing children and capturing those moments parents will recognise but that are usually missed in photographs: the wide-eyed look of surprise at the smallest new thing, a flash of mischief, or spontaneous laughter among friends. Since having my own child I’ve realised how quickly they grow up, and how important it is to record their incidents and expressions to look back on and enjoy for years to come.
It’s a privilege for me to be asked to share in these fleeting moments with other families. This site includes examples of my work and rates, but please call me on 07957 437154 to discuss what works best for you and your child.
I can work in a studio, on location, in your own home, or a combination of these; whatever suits you best. Sessions usually last between One and two hours and I encourage everyone to relax and have fun, however chaotic this may become - the best photos are usually when people forget they’re being photographed!
• STUDIO SESSION are great for toddlers and older children with a few changes of outfits. In each session I always try to create a few styles and can be made more fun by using fancy dress, toys and props that are personal to you and your child.. The studio I use is in Crystal Palace but early booking is essential and a £25 charge is added.
• HOME SHOOT are more personal and familiar surroundings create a much more powerful memory. These are a must for newborn babies and their mums, but please ensure sessions are booked before the baby is due as these work best if taken as soon as possible. The house does'nt need to be large or even tidy as I won’t take up much space and most of the background will be out of focus in the finished shots.
• LOCATION SHOOT can literally be anywhere! Bluebell woods and lavender fields are in easy reach of south London, but a few shots in the garden or a local park often work just as well. Depending on the season I have my favourite places and I’m happy to make suggestions.
AFTER YOUR SESSION
Within 2 weeks of the session I’ll email you with details of a private folder on this site where your images will be available to view at your leisure.
On top of the basic packages I offer a range of products which can showcase your photographs, either for yourself or as gifts for family and friends. You can look through these on my Products and Prices page and place an order at any time.
NEW BORN BABY SHOOT
Home shoots are essential for newborn babies and their mums. The house doesn’t have to be large as I won’t take up much space and most of the background will be out of focus in the finished shots so there’s no need to tidy! I allow plenty of time (up to four hours) and these sessions are very relaxed; you can do whatever you need and I won’t get in the way. While baby is being fed or changed I’m happy to take sibling or family portraits as well at no extra cost.
I have a selection of props, blankets and wraps which can be used in the session. If there are any particular props or colours you’d like me to use please ask beforehand.
These sessions would be best booked after your 20-week scan so the shoot can be booked in ideally when your baby is between 5 - 10 days old. A 10% non-refundable deposit is payable on booking and the remaining session fee must be paid in full one month before the shoot date. This remaining fee is refundable at the photographers discretion and sessions can be rescheduled to accommodate late or early babies.
Within two weeks of the session I’ll email you with details of a private folder on this site where you can view your images.
